SOFT SWITCH

Soft Switch

Sieneon started Soft Switch research in 1997 when it proposed the concept of PDM (packet division multiplex) by integrating the networking and switching together. In 2000, Sieneon proposed the Software Defined Modules for its common access point platform for the PDM networks. In 2001, this soft-switch concept had been applied for B3G base-station projects and implemented the wireless access point platform for the UMTS/ cdma2000/ OFDMA infrastructure. Currently, Sieneon is applying it into the 4G OWA (open wireless architecture) infrastructure with optimal resource management throughout the whole networks.
